Possibly the most inevitable trifecta of innovation districts on Roosevelt Island between Manhattan and Queens. Imagine the collaboration of Cornell - NYC - Google. And Technion-Israel Institute of Technology
It goes by the name Applied Sciences NYC.  Opens in 2017.

The goals are to increase the population of engineering graduates by 2%, contribute $33 BILLION (with a B) of economic impact over three decades, and foster 1,000 spin-off companies. HERE are thoughts on what the design of the building looks like for tech innovation.
