- 2006: Lincoln business leaders with ties to University of Nebraska Foundation propose university research park.
2008:
Lawmakers OK relocating Nebraska State Fair, transferring fairgrounds
to University of Nebraska-Lincoln; UNL required to pay $21.5 million to
move fair.
2010: UNL takes possession of former fairgrounds.
2011: Lawmakers approve $25 million to jump-start construction at Innovation Campus; private money covers rest of construction costs.
2014: Innovation Commons building opens.
2015:
Food Innovation Center and Greenhouse Innovation Center to be completed
midyear, with grand opening slated for October; university requests $25
million more for construction.
