July 2014 Detroit officially declares itself an innovation district...and list off names to prove it. Before that it was started by Detroit Creative Corridor Center. Attractive neighbors such as The Henry Ford Innovation Institute and The College of Creative Studies anchor the corridor.
The official local champion selected was Nancy Schlichting, CEO of the Henry Ford Health System.
